Radon Measurement/Mitigation
Have you ever heard that Radon causes Lung Cancer? Well that’s not entirely true. Radon does not cause you harm, it is what Radon breaks down into that causes you harm. Every home has some level of radon. How do you know what Radon levels are in your prospective new home? We can help you know what those levels are so you can protect the ones you love. When it comes to correcting the condition we can help there too. A Mitigation System can be installed to correct or reduce unsafe levels of radon gas from entering your home and directs the gas to the outside air.

Wood Destroying Insect Inspections Termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, house bore beetle, powder post beetle, and others all can cause damage to your home. Inspecting your home for these insects is the first step in heading off devastating structural damage which often go unnoticed until significant damage is visible.

Lead Testing
The ingestion of sufficient lead in your body can cause irreparable damage to your brain and/or nervous system. If you own, or purchasing a home built prior to 1978, there is a high probability that the home contains lead.. Having it tested is the only way to know.

Mold Testing/Remediation
Mold is more than just a buzz word. Mold is a living organism that, if left to thrive, can lead to ill health effects and building damage. Addressing the cause of the moisture in the home is the key to controlling mold growth. Even if an excessive mold condition is remediated, mold can return if the conditions are suitable to sustain reproduction.

HomeImprovement/Project Consulting
All too often homeowners are involved in needless litigation and paying attorneys to resolve matters that, in my view, should never had happened. Carefully selecting a qualified contractor and making sure they do the work according to plan is not as easy as most consumers are finding out. After numerous Expert Witnessing cases, I’ve searched for a way to get to homeowners before a relationship between homeowner and contractor goes sour. The idea finally occurred to me that I needed to offer a service that is currently not found in the market place. This I call “Home Project Consulting”. The goal of this service is to assist the homeowner in every aspect of any home improvement project. Projects such as; Basement Finishing, Deck building, Kitchen and Bath Remodeling, whole house rehabs, and additions, are monitored by me to ensure compliance with the original proposal. The scope of our service ranges from; Contractor Proposal Review, Project Phase Inspections prior to payment, and Project Evaluation/Inspection prior to final payment. The goal is to work with you, the homeowner to ensure the project goes smoothly and reduce costly mistakes, set backs, or work stoppage due to homeowner and contractor disputes.

Despite contractor referrals, my clients have had horrific experiences with unscrupulous contractors. From the contractor that stopped production on a project due to financial disputes to the contractor that did horrible work. My goal is to be in effect the homeowner’s project manager from start to finish to ensure the right contractor is selected for the job, and to ensure the job gets done to their satisfaction. When a contractor knows that he is being monitored and his work is being checked by someone who knows what the work is supposed to look like, he thinks twice about taking short cuts or taking advantage of someone. I want to be there for you every step of the way to make sure you’re a happy homeowner at the end of the project.

Our fee schedule is as follows: for projects under $500.00 our rate is $50.00; $500.00- $1000.00 our rate is $100.00; -$1000.00 - $2000.00 our rate is $175.00; $2000.00 - $2500.00 are rate is $225.00; $3000 and over is approx. 10% of the overall cost of the project.
